We’re happy to share the news about the expansion of Alisur’s wheat storage facility, a leading company in Chile’s agro-industrial sector. The project involves the installation of a 4,000-ton silo, designed to enhance grain handling and storage efficiency at their main site. With civil works now complete, we are moving forward with the silo assembly, which meets the highest safety and functionality standards and is constructed using ProMag-coated steel.
What sets this silo apart is its ProMag coating, an advanced aluminum-magnesium-zinc alloy that provides exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, even in the toughest environments. This innovative technology not only extends the silo’s lifespan but also promotes sustainability by reducing zinc consumption and minimizing environmental impact.
The ANSI 20.63/10 silo is specially reinforced to withstand seismic activity, complying with UBC (1997) regulations. It’s also equipped with cutting-edge features to ensure safe and efficient grain storage:
- Level detectors: Both maximum (pendulum) and minimum (capacitive) for precise monitoring.
- Enhanced ventilation: Grids offering a 15% ventilation area and high-performance centrifugal fans.
- Temperature control: A state-of-the-art CTC system with strategically placed probes.
- Access and maintenance: Catwalks and ladders designed for safe and easy operation.
The grain handling system integrates high-capacity chain conveyors (up to 150 tons per hour), intake and discharge hoppers, internal sweepers, and extractors—all optimized for maximum efficiency.
This expansion will significantly boost Alisur’s storage capacity and streamline its processes, reinforcing its position as a leader in Chile’s agri-food industry. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of this important project.
